At 11.30 hours on 30.10.1939 we stopped the Greek steam merchant "THRASYVOULOS" of Andros, Greece in position 49° 11'N/11° 23'W and ordered her to hand over the papers of the ship. |

The ship was neutral, it was carrying 100% contraband. It was therefore allowed to capture and take her as prize (article 28, subparagraph 2 of the prize regulations) and because taking her as prize would have hampered the further operations of the U-boat or endangered it, she was to be destroyed.
About 12.30 hours the ship was sunk by torpedo.
The crew of the steamer was released to the closest harbor during improving weather in three lifeboats which were assured for their seaworthiness and proper condition by the officer of the steamer that brought the ship's papers. Moreover we sent radio messages with SOS, the name of the steamer and the position on the required frequencies for their safety.
The following ship's papers were taken from the master, which are attached to the first version of this prize report: |

1.) Protocol of measurement
2.) All encountered loading papers
