2.) 21 February for BF 25, there daily convoys. Good listening despite strong stratification. Strongest surveillance. Continuous S-gear, also from freighters, was not detected. Diving depth immaterial, Asdic similar to sounding, when overrun explosive sounding. Silent running 5 meters above the bottom. Best depth charges, clear to dive with limitations. |

3.) Racket tones at times suddenly with Volume 3, roaring Volume. No buoy sightings. In most cases a short time later patrol vessels with listening, locating , depth charges. |

4.) Patrol vessels on stopping, saw switched on or off, apparently can be throttled, suddenly depth charges, boat not detected. |

|

U-1002 (Boos) gave from AM 43 passing report and medium defenses and surveillance. |

U-866 (Rogowski) area off Halifax, U-857 (Premauer) area of Cape Hatteras. If no traffic there, go along the coast |

English report: 10.55 hours torpedoed by U-boat, 11.32 hours garbled message from "AMUSEMENT" sailing from overseas territory to Portsmouth indicated that ship 53 was hit on the starboard side, sinking. From previous determination this is probably [illegible word] ship. |

|
To the torpedo report from 7 March in AM 9843 from 8 March large beams drifting off Milford Haven were reported as a hazard to navigation. |
